Elephants on a slow orderly march in a drought scoured landscape.  There is no water, no foliage in the foreground.  At the distant horizon, though, a hazy forest stands like a faded mirage.

The angle of their spines together mark a continuous arrow like diagonal as though the group is connected telepathically to move in the same direction, plodding to conserve energy with mathematical precision and near perfect alignment.

The large area of the elephant's brain that is attributed to spatial memory and social communication, recognisably larger than that of a human being, might explain this ability to form such exact patterns of behaviour.
